Reducing and enlarging
Open picture
Image - Image size - on dropdown menu click bicubic sharper
Width change to 100 pixels
ok Double click hand
This shows you have thrown out too much information
Edit - undo
Image resize - 400 pixels - bicubic reduction - resample ok
Double click hand - file save as
Enlarge again - it is now only 400 pixels in width - click image - image sizewidth 3888 pixels - resample image - bicubic smoother (best for enlargement) - ok
double click on hand - loose information - not as clear as the original
You can easily decrease size for same sharpness but harder to increase and keep quality.
Always make a back up of your original pictures
